Get To Work!! The Power Of Those Three Words

Get to work, I wonder how many people have actually thought about the power of those three words. Sure, most of us have probably heard them come from either our parents or from a boss who was not happy with our performance, but how many of you have actually said those three words to yourself.

So many people when trying to build a business online, do nothing more than search out information that is going to give them $100,000 overnight that so many programs claim to be able to do. Usually this winds up hindering people so badly that they never even start. And if they do actually start, they’re so confused with all information they have downloaded into their brain, that they can’t put the proper pieces together to find any success.

There are so many different methods for trying to make a dollar online and that very well may be the problem that most people face. How do you know which one to do? It’s not really a matter of which one you should choose, it’s more of a pick a method and give it 100% of your effort. Instead of spending all your time reading in forums, downloading free e-books or searching for the next million dollar program, why not just get to work on what you already know how to do.

The majority of people who have ever researched making money online already know at least 75% of what needs to be done. The problem lies in the fact that they just do it. It’s human nature to want to try out the latest flashy program. I mean come on, who doesn’t want to make $10,000 overnight? But the fact is you’re not going to make that kind of money unless you take the time to actually build the business. And I can’t think of one business that is constantly changing up the methods that uses.

Businesses will usually be founded upon a method or a marketing tactic and drain that method for every last dime it can get. Only once they have become profitable did they begin to branch out into various other forms of income. Now obviously there are exceptions to every rule, but most people who are successful online have a core method that built the foundation for their business. And if you actually take the time to sit down and talk to one of these people, they will almost 100% of time tell you that they busted their asses get there. They didn’t spend a ton of time in forums or downloading books, they created a plan and they got to work.

So the next time you look up and realize that you’ve wasted two hours reading an interesting thread on your favorite forum or just finished reading the 5th e- book you downloaded this week, remember that that is two hours that you’re never going to be able to get back that you could have been working on building your business.

GET TO WORK! Take those three words tape them somewhere that you can see them. Read them every time you sit down at your computer and you will be surprised how much more productive and successful you can become. Squeeze every last opportunity out of the business model you choose and get to work making it successful. It’s your business and nobody else is going to do the work for you.

Why Do So Many Just Give Up On Making Money Online – How To Keep Yourself Out Of This Rut

You hear it all the time about how people want to start to make money online. They are focused on the fact that they can write their own schedule, make a ton of money and be ready to watch the game that’s on late during the week. Hell, why not? If you work online, you don’t have anywhere to be.

Then what happens is reality sets in and you realize that it’s not going to be as easy as you might have thought. Truth is, it is pretty easy, but most people leave out the most important part. They forget it’s called WORK from home. You still have to work, just like you would if you were at any other job you were getting paid for.  But, I realize that sometimes people will get down or frustrated and just want to give up. If you feel like your starting to step foot in these shoes, then here’s a few tips to keep you going.

1. Remember Why You Started In The First Place

Go back and look again as to why you started this. I’ll be after remembering for a few minutes, you’ll get a renewed sense of drive.

2. Put Yourself In A Position You Can’t Escape

Now, obviously I’m not talking about putting yourself into a financial position that can harm you or your family. But instead of buying 1 months worth of hosting, buy it for the whole year. Give yourself a reason not to just throw money down the toilet.  Post your goals in a public place that you frequent for everyone to see. You don’t want to be publicly known as a quitter do you? Well, unless it has something to do with a bad habbit:)

3. Surround Yourself With Motivated And Successful People

Believe it or not, this is one of the most important things you can ever do. Confidence breeds more confidence, so if you surround yourself with these type of people, you will begin to adapt their though process. This works in sports, business and anything else you are into really. It’s more powerful than most give it credit for.

4. Set A Time Specific Deadline For Everything

Another powerful step that many overlook. Give yourself a deadline for everything you do. It’s so much easier to just kind of mope around or procrastinate when you don’t have anything specific to do in mind. How many hours have you just wasted “looking around”? Probably more than most of us care to admit.

Remember, this is one of the few types of businesses that you can actually get more out of it than you put in, BUT only once you’ve gotten to a level that its possible.  Getting there just takes a little work:)

Heading Into The New Year

Well, 2009 is about in the books. It’s been an exciting year for me to say the least. In the beginning of 2009 I was just starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel as far as seeing some money coming in from my online adventures. Now as 2009 winds down, I’ve created an income that would allow most to leave their day jobs.

The one thing I’ve learned more than anything else is to stay focused on the tasks you have set out for yourself. So many times it’s so easy to get caught up in the new flashy programs that are being launched every other week. It’s easy to lose 2 hours reading all the posts in your favorite forum or all the free products you have downloaded and are collecting dust on your hard drive.

Giving yourself goals and time frames to complete them in is key to success in anything I believe. But more so than that, I think setting up timed goals for yourself daily is even more important.

By setting a small set of daily goals and them giving yourself times to complete them each day, you’ll be surprised how much easier it is to get to your  long term goals.  No matter what you do though, SET GOALS and stay focused and work towards them. I can’t stress how powerful this is and how much of a vital piece of the success I’ve had.

There are many different programs out there that can help you accomplish this. The one I use is called The Focus Master. It’s a desk top program that lets you set times for each goal daily. It then gives you a report of exactly how many minutes you have been doing each project.

Looking forward to 2010, I’m positive it will be much more financial rewarding than this year. I know I’ve at least set my goals for it to be.  How about you?

List Building – Is The Money Really In The List?

Posted on : 05-12-2009 | By : bryan | In : List Building

You hear it time and time again from seasoned internet marketers that the money is in the list. Is this really the case?  Well, talk to someone who knows how to market a list of 5 thousand people and they will tell you it’s true. But, talk to someone who has a list of 50 thousand people that has a rapid fire market approach and they will probably tell you different.

If you have a list or are building one, the one thing that is more important than all others is to treat your list with some respect. You will get more unsubscribes if you do nothing more than constantly blast offer after offer to them. Yea, you’ll probably make some money, but it’s not going to be what it could be.

Taking the time to build a level of trust with your list could be the most important thing you do. You want to get to know them, you want them to know you. Think about it this way: You go to buy a new surf board from a store you’ve been into a few times. But each time you go in there, the owner keeps trying to sell you all kinds of stuff without even asking you what your abilities are.  After a while your going to go and find a new store to buy your surf equipment from just because you feel uncomfortable going into that store.

Take the other side now and you go into the same store. Except this times, the owner has built a relationship with you. Each time you come in, he asks you how you’ve been surfing, what kind of equipment you like, do you ride a long board or short board, do you wear a wet suit or go without?  What happens is you start to feel less like a customer and more like a person. The next time your in the mood to by something, or you want some advice on surf equipment, who are you going to go to?  Starting to make sense?

Having a list is really no different. You need try to help them achieve their goals. You need to treat them like a person who is sitting in the same room with you. Just because they are on the other side of an email does not mean you can just treat them like  a number.  Not if you want them to reward you with their hard earned money when you make a recommendation.   Which brings me to another point.

Don’t promote stuff to your list that you don’t or wouldn’t use yourself. You may get away with this for a while, but eventually your going to get called out on how every email you send out is the “next best thing”.  Treat your list right and they will reward you time and time again.

Getting Indexed Can Drive You Crazy

Posted on : 28-11-2009 | By : bryan | In : SEO

There’s not much worse than spending a ton of time building a site, getting ready to drive the traffic and not being able to be found. It seems that Google is becoming more and more a pain in the ass when it comes to indexing your site. With the recent crack down on “review” sites and those that are pushing products with less than “stellar” reputations, it has become increasingly harder to get your site indexed in a decent amount of time.

Here’s a few tips to help:

1. Don’t Put Affiliate Links On It Until It’s Indexed
Of course you are going to have a way to make some money from your site, but hold off on putting those affiliate links on it until it gets indexed. Google prides itself on “user experience” so the last thing they want to see from a new page is someone trying to push their “user” towards a paid product.  Give off the impression that your giving good content and you’ll get indexed faster.

2. Cloak Your Affiliate Links
I used to think that it didn’t matter if you cloaked your links or not. The only people who even know what an affiliate link is are other affiliate marketers. However, it seems like Google has decided to crack down on these links being shown blatantly in websites.  You can do a simple redirect inside your hosting account or you can use something like tinyurl.com to cloak the link. Always cloak through your hosting if you can as it will look like an actual link rather than a cloaking service.

3. Have A Terms Of Service And A Privacy Policy Page
Pain in the ass to have to create these two pages for each site?  Yep, but it’s what lets Google know that your a legit site. They have recently placed a good amount of weight on this so it’s best you comply. You don’t have to go crazy with these two pages on your site. Just a simple run of the mill template will do.

4. Submit Your Rss Feeds To These Three First
There are hundreds of rss aggregators, but the three that usually get the best results are Goldenfeed.com, Feedagg.com and Feedage.com. One of those three usually show up in a few hours.

5. Social Bookmark At Digg And Propeller
Social bookmarking always helps, but I’ve found Digg and Propeller to be the two that will get you indexed the fastest.  Social bookmark your site at these two places and then ping the urls of the bookmarks at Pingoat.com

6. Yahoo Answers
Answer a question in yahoo answers with your link in the resource box. Then take the url of the question and ping it over at Pingoat.com.

While I can’t guarantee that this will get you indexed overnight, it will drastically speed up the process. Most times, as long as your site has any type of decent content on it, you should be indexed within 24-48 hours of doing these 6 things.

Which Method Should You Choose?

Posted on : 27-11-2009 | By : bryan | In : Money Methods

There are tons of different methods you can pick when it comes to making money. The thing you have to watch out for is to not wear yourself thin and try to many at once.

You can pick adsense, product creation, affiliate marketing, offline marketing, services for other marketers and the list goes on. While there is no one method that can be crowned “king”, there are a couple that I think are the best. Of course, this is just my opinion.

The two I like the best are product creation and affiliate marketing. Adsense can be a really good one, but your whole income and work is in the end controlled by Google. There have been some serious horror stories about people waking up to find their adsense accounts have been banned for no apparent reason. At first I thought “yea right”, like they would just ban you for no reason, you had to of done something. But I saw a friend of mine’s account get canceled and he did nothing.

With affiliate marketing, you don’t have to touch the product, sell the product or do anything with the product other than get people to the products sales page. You get a cut of the sale and don’t have to worry about any customer issues since that gets handled by the product owner.  There are plenty of people who make a ton of money this way. Even though this can be extremely profitable, I still rank this one in second place.

Product creation is in my opinion the most profitable way to make money online. Now before you go running off to create a product, there is a lot that goes into making it profitable.  You can have the best ebook on the planet on a subject, but if your sales page or traffic sucks, your going to get no where.

First things first, you need to create the product in an area that people are willing to spend money. You don’t want to go creating a product on something that is widely found free. You’ll be pretty much wasting your time since there really isn’t a market for it. Pick something that you either know about already or something your willing to research and become an expert in, BUT make sure it’s a area with a hungry crowd.

The other thing I like so much about product creation is that you can get other people to be affiliates for you. Think about it this way. You can try to drive all the traffic yourself to a product you created and keep all the money or you can get 100’s of affiliates doing it all for you.  Yes you ‘ll have to give up about 50% or more of the sales as commission to the affiliate, but if you have 100 affiliates doing it for you it’s well worth it.

Now if your smart, you combine the two.  First start out as an affiliate for a product and see if it makes you some money. If you find that you are doing well as an affiliate for the product, then you can create your own product within the same niche.  Do this two or three times and before you know it your making money on both ends.  First as an affiliate and then as a product creator.

How Not To Succeed With Internet Marketing

Posted on : 26-11-2009 | By : bryan | In : Getting Started

3

While it may seem new or hard at first, you can succeed with internet marketing given you have a great desire to learn.

Sometimes you might find yourself doing things that are counterproductive to your internet marketing success. It’s important to pay attention to these things below and to make sure you don’t fall victim to them.

1. Only download FR.EE products.

You don’t want to have to pay for anything if you can get it for free, right?  Even if you have to spend a lot of time finding the free information. This is a quick way to get information overload and to completely derail your success. Somethings are worth paying for. You just have to decide which ones are right for you.

2. Start off jumping right into the internet marketing niche as your niche of choice.

There is a way to do this, but promoting the latest “flash in the pan program” is not the way. Don’t do this! There is nothing worse than someone trying to get someone else to buy a make money online program when they have not made a dime themselves.

3. Spend a lot of time on forums.

You know you can learn a lot on forums. There’s so much information, but you’ll never be able to read it all. Forums are one of the biggest time wasters you will come accross.

4. Have plenty of ideas and starts, but don’t complete anything.

This is the second biggest downfall of anyone trying to work online. They start things, give it a couple days and decide it doesn’t work. Then they start something else and repeat the process. This leads to a “this is such a scam” attitude and they quit.

5. Jump around to different business models quickly and often.

You tried one method of making money online (for one whole week) and it didn’t work, so now you’re trying another one that’s going to be just the thing.

Obviously I’m being very tongue-in-cheek here, but did you feel just a little uncomfortable regarding some of them?

Turn this around and…

Download only quality information even if it’s not free as it can save you time searching and be exactly what you need right now.

Think about positioning yourself as an expert in a niche you are an expert in and go after the profits there first.

Learning from forums is fine, but you don’t have to read everything.  Limit your time on forums and don’t mistake reading forums as taking action.

Abandon your goal of complete perfection and get your product out there already.  You can’t make any money from it if you don’t go live with it.  You can continue to tweak it even if it is already on the market.

Swallow your excuses. Many a marketer have come from very poor odds and gone on to successfully make mo.ney on the Internet.

BUILD A BUSINESS!!!!  I cannot stress this point enough. You can flounder around and make some money by being someone elses affiliate, but if you do that, your subject to the rules and changes they want to make.  Who’s to say that they don’t one day just pull their product down completely?  Now all the work you have done was worthless!

Build something you own, something you can control, something that if you work at it and build upon it, will bring you a return that you would have never thought possible.  BUILD A BUSINESS!!!!

Can I Really Make Money Online? Starting Out Was Rough!

Posted on : 25-11-2009 | By : bryan | In : Getting Started

Can I really make money online?  That was the question that entered into my mind when I first got started. As I said before, I knew absolutely nothing about how to do it.  What got it all started was losing $5000.00 to an internet scam called Ad-Surf Daily.  Some of you may have heard of it, but it was basically a auto surf program that paid you to view different websites for a certain amount of time.  What ever you put in, they’d paid you a certain percentage of profit per day.  So since I put in 5k I got paid about 50.00 per day. I was supposed to get this 50 a day until I was paid at least $7500.

Long story short, the government came in and shut it down about a month after I got into it. Just my luck that the program had been going for almost 3 years when it was closed down.  Of course I got in at the end and lost all my 5k.  Needless to say, I was pretty pissed off.

So I set out to get my money back, but I really wasn’t sure how I was going to do it just yet. Of course I ran into all the programs that claim to show you how to make millions overnight just as most people do at some point. However, having just been scammed out of $5000 was about to drop down anymore money. So I did a little bit of research and came across a coaching program that claimed to allow me to watch over a guy shoulder as he created $100 a day from scratch.

Of course as my luck would have it, the guy disappeared from the program 45 days into it and never came back. I guess it didn’t help that he only made about $42 all total in a month and a half he had been showing us how to do it. So again here I am having still made no money, still out $5000 and now I’ve wasted a month and a half following someone who disappeared. Not a very promising start to my Internet marketing career I would say.

But I was still determined to get my five grand back of one-way or the other. Against the complaints of many of my friends, I continue to push on in search for information that would help me see some profits. It wasn’t until the end of October that I would see my first sale and prove to myself that money could be made from the computer.

My point to all this is, looking back on the amount of money I make now I would have never thought that I would have been able to get here this quickly. But the truth is I honestly believe I should be making more than what I am. Even though I’ve been extremely successful in the eyes of many people, I have treated the Internet more like my own personal ATM machine instead of an actual business. It is only within the last six months that I have truly begun to understand just how many possibilities there really are right in front of my face.

Is This A Business Or A Hobby For You

Posted on : 24-11-2009 | By : bryan | In : Getting Started

0

Just over a year ago, I started the journey that many are taking right now. Completely green to the whole “internet marketing” thing, just like many I got caught up in the flashy headlines of so many sites we see.  “You can make 1 million dollars overnight with this” is pretty much what we all see when we know nothing.  Wow, what a difference a year makes.

Lets get one thing out in the open right off the bat.  THERE IS NO OVERNIGHT SUCCESS. I don’t care what the headline says, you are not going to quit your day job within a week of starting anything.  Sorry if that’s not what you were wanting to hear, but it’s the truth.  And since The Newbie University was founded on telling you whats real, your going to see a lot of what you “think” is true will not be.

Fast forward to a year later, and I now sit on a high 4 to low 5 figure a month income.

How did I get there?  Hard work that’s how! Making money online is not rocket science no matter how hard people try and make it. It comes down to only two things as far as I’m concerned and thats knowing what to do and then actually going out and doing it!

The last part is where most people fail. They try something for a week and then get no results.  They think “this doesn’t work” and then move on to the next shiny method that they come across.  A week IS NOT long enough to know if something works. There is not one business that was built in a week. I’ll repeat it again, is this going to be a business for you or just a hobby?

If you treat this like a hobby, then that is all it’s going to be. You may have some success, and if that’s all your after then by all means I’m not here to judge. BUT, if you got into this for the reasons that most people attempt to work from home, a hobby is not going to cut it.

  • Why did you get into this?
  • Hate your job?
  • Not making enough money?
  • Hate your boss?
  • Want more time with your family?

These are the most common, but each person has their own.

Trust me when I tell you that if I can do this, then anybody can. When I first started in August of 2008 I didn’t even have an email address LOL. The only thing I really knew how to do with the computer was turn it on!

I didn’t make my first dime online until October 25th. That’s almost a full 3 months of working before I broke through.  Most people would have quit by then, and there were times I thought about it.  But, I knew there was money to be made and it was only a matter of time.

Everything has  a learning curve and you have to look at this that way as well.  You don’t think a doctor learned how to do open heart surgery in a week do you?  Do you think an auto mechanic can rebuild a engine after looking at a book for  a week?  NO, and you shouldn’t think your going to quit your job and start making thousands a week after you pick up the latest ebook either.  Sorry, there’s that honesty again I was telling you about.
